Swine Flu In Australia update! REACHES 1700

The total of confirmed a swine flu 09 cases in Australia as at 1700 AEST has increased to 1006 – with most new cases in Victoria. Victoria now has 874 confirmed cases of swine flu 09, with a further 122 cases confirmed overnight.
Today, there have also been three new confirmed cases recorded in Queensland, two in South Australia, one in NSW, one in the ACT and one in Tasmania.

Earlier this morning, Queensland Health reported two new cases. The first is a student from Smithfield State High School in Cairns. The teenager did not attend school while infectious and there is no associated school closure. A second case in Queensland is a young child from Blackwater. The child has not attended school since returning from Melbourne and becoming ill, and there is no associated school closure. Since these two cases were reported, another – a Moreton Bay resident – has been confirmed. Queensland Health has begun contact tracing.

Tasmania now has six confirmed cases of swine flu 09.The sixth person is from Tasmania’s South and became sick after traveling to Victoria. The person is in home isolation and is following the advice of public health officials.

NSW has one new case. There are now 75 confirmed cases in NSW, with 54 of these associated with the Pacific Dawn cruise ship, a further 17 associated with overseas travel and four cases acquired in Melbourne.

The breakdown is: ACT 5, NSW 75, SA 9, Qld 32, Tas 6, Vic 874, WA 2, NT 3

well it’s hit 147 confirmed cases of swine flu!!!

THE number of confirmed swine flu cases in Australia has risen to 147, as the Federal Government orders 10 million doses of swine flu vaccine.

There have been 44 new confirmed cases since midday today. Victoria had 43 new cases and Queensland one new case.

Ninety-six people have now been confirmed as having swine flu in Victoria,  almost double that of the 53 declared by the state government earlier today.

The new figure, released by Victorian Health Minister Daniel Andrews, was confirmed by laboratory tests.

“The Department of Human Services is now checking for further details of their background history,” Mr Andrews said in a statement.

Another three schools – St John’s Catholic Primary School in Clifton Hill, St Monica’s in Epping, and Melbourne Girls College in Richmond – will close after further cases were confirmed at each school.

Thornbury High School and Mill Park Secondary remain closed.

It’s spreading around Australia!  hey expect it to go up in the next 48 hours . A cruise ship off Sydney coast and have swine flu on that boat so their are staying on the boat. Australians i suggest to you to watch sunrise on prime or win to find out how much the swine flu has gone up.
